For infants aged 2-3 Years. Infants in this age range are eager to try new things and are excited to participate in group activities. This level promotes the beginning stages of independence, and the beginning stages of separating the parent and baby in the aquatic environment, before transitioning into the preschool program. Key skills such as aided floating, kicking and water survival sequencing is introduced and repeated throughout this level.
The aims of the class are to teach freestyle with no breathing, back kick, breath control, and to introduce backstroke arms. These skills are difficult for children of this age to master, so be patient and constantly challenge the class.
This class is slightly more advanced, as our qualified coaches introduce new and complex skills such as handstands, cartwheels, and forward rolls into the program.
For infants aged between 12-24 months. Infants in this age range will enjoy opportunities to try new activities and will show an active interest in new objects and activities within our classes. The aim is to foster their new found curiosity by channelling this to promote independence.
We encourage independence through positive guidance techniques that support the development of self-control and interpersonal skills by encouraging positive approaches to learning and interacting with others.
Yabby is an extension of the Guppy level class that helps to further establishes the basic water safety skills. The level aims to expand children’s confidence to perform floating and propulsion skills.
Important Survival Skills are also introduced and independence, without teacher assistance, is encouraged through these classes.
Our Kinder Gym classes provide a safe environment for children to develop physical skills in a fun way, at their own pace.
The aims of the class are to continue to build water confidence and independence, to teach swimming with breath control, to teach independent streamline kicking and to teach extension to the rescue and survival sequences over 6 metres of swimming.
This class allows children to interact and socialise with their peers as they participate in the activities with their parent.
This level builds strength and confidence in deeper water and focuses on completing a full lap of the pool with all strokes refined for the distance.
Guppy is an introductory class that helps to establish the very basic water safety skills. It should be used to introduce children to water in a safe, inviting, friendly manner.
The aims of the class are initially to build water confidence and then to teach the key foundation skills such as water familiarisation and introduction to floating.
This is an entry-level program where the primary focus will be on your child’s ability to perform skills in a safe and fun manner.
For School Aged Children between 5-17 years. The aims of the class are to teach water confidence, reach and pull arms, front and back floats, and a streamline push and glide. A safety sequence is also taught as an essential component of the Stingray level.
The aims of the Turtle level are to introduce the recovery phase of the Freestyle stroke (over arm) and introduction to Backstroke Arms (with assistance/kickboard). Further development is given with the introduction of the freestyle side breath. Swimmers are assessed to enter this level.
The aims of the class are to correct freestyle, backstroke, and survival backstroke techniques. The development of freestyle tumble turn, breaststroke, and butterfly kicks.
Barramundi’s are introduced to a Wade Rescue, where they will enter the water to help someone in distress in the water. Swimmers need to be assessed to enter this level.
The aims of the class are to correct freestyle, backstroke, and survival backstroke techniques. The development of breaststroke in its whole stroke, and butterfly arms.
Otter’s are introduced to an Accompanied Rescue, where they get into the water and tow a person in distress in the water and tow them to safety. Swimmers need to be assessed to enter this level.

Tramp Intermediate Skills- Invite Only
Classes are designed to further develop and ‘perfect’ gymnastic skills.
The aims of the class are to teach freestyle with bilateral breathing, backstroke, and to introduce breaststroke kick.
This class continues to build on and teach many of the fundamental swimming skills and techniques. Correct head and body position must be stressed throughout the class. Swimmers need to be assessed to enter this level.
Swordfish is the first level of our Stroke Correction program. The aim of the Swordfish level is to introduce Butterfly timing, begin to use freestyle and backstroke tumble turns regularly, introduce Pivot Turns and Crouch Diving. The level also goes through how to perform talk and throw rescues independently. Swimmers need to be assessed to enter this level.

Is an Invite only class. This class is for children who have progressed through Gym Fun and Gym Skills.
The main aim of the SwimFit Level is to ensure the swimming strokes are conditioned in a manner that resembles the ability to maintain swimming technique for longer periods of time. SwimFit lessons should be exposed to high intensity swimming in preparation to graduate from the Learn to Swim program. After which they will have the option to go to a competitive swimming club of their choice or maintain their swimming fitness with SGAC.
This level introduces people over the age of 18 to the aquatic environment. The level focuses on key skill development such as movement through water, floating and introductory water survival skills
This level begins the swimmer to develop freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke movements. Key survival skills such as treading water and survival sequences are also taught.
Invite only class or children who has passed the Intermediate skills level.

The aim of the Dolphin level is to increase endurance and refine all four competitive strokes. Increase swimmer's understanding and refinement of all three survival strokes. Furthermore introducing the concept of the individual medley.
